Vandana Krishna, is a self-taught artist based in Bengaluru, India. An engineer by qualification and an artist by passion, after a brief stint in the IT industry, she called it quits to pursue her passion. Though mostly self-taught, she has been trained under some highly skilled artists across the world through various online courses & workshops.

Since 2015 she has been exhibiting her art works through various group shows. Her works have found homes across India, USA & Australia. Her Sketchbook & Canvas Project works are part of permanent collection of Brooklyn Art Library, NY.

Her Zentangle inspired intricate ink works, in free form as well as Mandala styles, are mostly abstract representation of her inspirations. She also paints semi-realistic works in acrylics, color pencils & graphite mediums. She currently works from her studio space in Bengaluru, INDIA.

A Certified Zentangle® Teacher, she conducts Basic & Advanced Zentangle group workshops across various locations in Bengaluru. She also offers private/one-on-one classes & online sessions through Skype/Hangouts/WhatsApp.

When not painting, Vandana enjoys travelling to jungles across India with her husband who pursues wildlife photography as hobby. They are also avid bird watchers & together they have spotted and photographed over a hundred-bird species across Karnataka. She also enjoys reading, yoga & meditation. She has a small group of passionate artist friends, who she loves to hang out with, discuss & explore the world of art.

Art for me, is my form of expression! I believe inspiration is all around & one just needs an eye to pick it up! It can be a place you travel to, a movie you watch or even a book you read, all serve us as inspirations.

I predominantly work with ink, acrylics & color pencils. While my semi-realistic works are impressionistic interpretation of my inspirations, my intricate ink works are mostly abstract representation inspired by Zentangle. I also enjoy creating art in my journal as a regular practice & exploring new mediums and subjects.

I work regularly creating small ink works focusing on Zentangle method. Apart from my art journaling & practising in other medium I am currently leaning & exploring RESIN ART!
